Digital Retinal Photography
We offer digital retinal photography to all of our patients during their eye examination. These pictures are necessary to document the health of the optic nerve, retinal blood vessels, and macula. The photographs are used for comparison to watch for changes in your eye from year to year.
Various eye diseases can be diagnosed with digital retinal photography such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, hypertensive retinopathy, and holes in the retina.
Not all insurances cover digital retinal photography; if yours doesn't, there will be a nominal fee for this service.
